Electric cars have been around for a long time. They have been through a lot of phases from big too small. Different prices from 35,000 dollars to 85,000 dollars. It has been through rough times. Now they are getting even more popular than before. Let’s read about the history of cars and some models. Let’s learn about inventors and how we get oil. By the end of this paper you will be car smart.

I read an article that says electric cars are new. That isn’t true because electric cars were made in 1830. It is becoming more popular because scientists found it polluted the air. There are some problems to electric cars. You’re probably wondering … how? Electric cars don’t have as much mobility. But back then that wasn’t a problem. You can’t go all the way to the country side from the city. Electric cars also are way more expensive than your average car. They are still sweet rides because they produce less pollution, there as quiet as a mouse, they don’t have an odor like gas cars, and they are less of a hassle compared to gas cars. You don’t have to crank that annoying handle to start. The electric car was invented in 1832 in Scotland. People bought electric cars in the 1800’s and early 1900’s because gas cars were hard to start Electric cars were easier to start. Plus you won’t get you clothes dirty! Electric cars were more popular than gas in New York City in the 1900’s.

When gas prices got cheaper electric cars became less popular because you had to pay less money for fuel. Are you wondering what the main problems with electric cars are? Well they main problem are; they don’t have as much mobility and they were more expensive at the time.

Did you know there was an event in 1970’s that caught people’s interest in electric cars? The gas prices got more expensive due to the less quantity of gas. Electric cars were less money than gas cars at the time. Have you ever wondered what the bad things about gas cars are? They cause pollution from the exhaust pipe. This causes global warming. It also lets out pollution to make it in the factory’s.

If you picked D; oil you are correct. That’s what makes a gas car run. Oil has a lot of power.

Did you know oil comes from the earth? Oil is also known as fossil fuel. They all come from the earth this is how fossil fuels are formed. Fossil fuels are formed by carbon absorbing in plants. Secondly, the plant dies with carbon trapped. Then, it’s naturally buried in the ground. Next, pressure makes it fossil fuels. Finally, we dig it up.

You know burning fossil fuel affects the atmosphere. How you might ask? Well it releases carbon in the air which can cause global warming. Electric cars help the environment by minimizing carbon in the air by electricity. Also, they delete pollution in the air because they use little fossil fuels. The only reason why electric cars cause pollution is from the factory’s that make them. Some car brand makes both electric and gas powered cars.

The company GM produced electric cars but was forced out of production due to oil companies didn’t want to go out of business because it was so popular. What do you think the people thought about it? People were furious they loved the car but you could only rent the car. After your rental was over you couldn’t buy it again. They smashed it in a remote location. They were so disappointed.

But that was in the early 2000. Electric cars are becoming more popular for the third time in history. They are becoming more popular now because of price. Electric cars are a cheaper now. But they are still more than average cars. People also are worrying more about pollution these days. What will make electric cars even more popular? Well if there is more charging station and maybe a little less expensive. There is only a few charging station. There is a model that is inexpensive and you can charge it in your house and it has great mobility. It is the Nissan leaf .The Nissan leaf travels 107 miles in one charge which is amazing. Is it a great car a lot of people like it because 90% of people are happy with the Nissan leaf. If you are looking to buy a Nissan leaf, can I afford it? The Nissan leaf cost in the range of $15,000 to $30,000.

Modern cars have changed in price it cost about the same electric cars today range to $20,000 to $75,000 today. Electric cars back 100 years ago was $50,000. We talked about different models, prices, consequences, benefits. Electric cars are very interesting; maybe one day you might buy one you know the history. I would say you’re smart about electric cars!!!
